Body Perfected and Claudia Ferreira
Claudia has practiced as a sports therapist and acupuncturist for over 12 years in London’s most reputable clinics. She now focuses on her own methodology linking Eastern and Western medical traditions. She obtained a diploma in sports therapy in 2001 and went on to do a bachelor’s in science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, completing her degree in 2006.
Her knowledge in sports related injuries comes from her own experiences as an athlete when she swam competitively at international levels. She also studied contemporary dance, body awareness and studies of the movement at the Institute of Contemporary Dance and Studies of the Movement Angel Viana in Rio de Janeiro. Claudia understands a thing or two about treating injuries and how to prevent them.
The western approach to her therapy method comes with deep muscle, joint manipulation and stretches aimed at relieving chronic or acute aches and pains and soft tissue repair. She calls this clinical sports massage which she has practiced extensively throughout the years.
She combines this practice with Traditional Chinese philosophy of the Zang Fu and follows specific acupressure points and meridians to release stagnation and blockages ensuring there is adequate blood flow getting through the tissues.
She has completed a post graduate diploma from the Barral Institute in visceral manipulation levels 1 and 2 and is finishing a level 5 diploma in nutrition.
Claudia believes the body is a self-healing and self-regulatory system. Her aim of treatment is to address the main dysfunction and together with her client, find the most efficient way to address and treat restrictions allowing the body to self-heal and restore an internal equilibrium. She merges all her knowledge and expertise to rectify and imbalanced system providing a holistic approach treating her clients both energetically and physically.
